About

The author of this site teaches English at the International Student Centre, University of Sussex, southern England, where he is part of the team helping to prepare non-native English speakers for entry to undergraduate and post-graduate student courses at the university.
Peter has lived and worked in France, Turkey, India and the USA. Since returning to the UK, he has been teaching English to non-native speakers, groups and individuals, in both public and private institutions since 1995. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics, holds the CTEFLA and PGCE, and has a postgraduate certificate in creative writing from Sussex University.
He also brings to teaching a wide experience in other walks of life, including several years in agriculture and horticulture in France, and ten years as a landscape gardener in the U.K.
His hobbies are cooking, collecting antiques and ethnic textiles, writing poetry and blogging. He has been developing the Rainschool site since October 2008, and continues to add to it on a regular basis.
